Project Manager / Estimator

About Us

Talbot Tennis constructs, repairs and resurfaces outdoor sports courts (tennis courts, pickleball courts and basketball courts). We are a quality focused company that has built its reputation on craftsmanship, reliability, expertise and excellent customer service.

We are seeking a Full-Time Project Manager / Estimator to bid and manage projects. The Project Manager / Estimator will oversee all phases of the sport court project – from initial client contact and estimating through completion. The role combines project management, material ordering, crew scheduling, subcontractor management and customer relations to ensure the projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the company’s quality standards.

Responsibilities

Estimating Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, bids and proposals for new construction, reconstruction and repair & resurfacing projects. The estimates prepared will be for both Public and Private projects.
  • Review project drawings, specifications and site conditions to determine material, labor and equipment needs.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain a database of clients, project names and pricing associated with each bid.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of assigned projects.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, crews, subcontractors and Talbot Tennis management.
  • Oversee projects budgets, schedules and quality control.
  • Manage material deliveries, labor and equipment needs.
  • Conduct site visits and attend required project meetings.
  • Resolve issues promptly to minimize delays or cost overruns.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review project documentation, including contracts, subcontracts, change orders and invoicing.
  • Maintain organized project correspondence and reports (digital & physical).
  • Prepare submittals & pay applications when required for a project.
  • Project close-out, final walkthroughs, punch list and client sign-off.

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in construction management, project management and estimating (sport surfacing, paving, fencing, concrete experience is a plus).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Power Point)
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Pass a background check, valid driver’s license and willing to occasionally travel to the projects.

Part-Time Office Manager

We are seeking a Part-Time Office Manager to help manage the day-to-day operations of the office and support our crews in the field. This opportunity offers the potential to grow into full-time employment for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll reconciliation in our accounting software (Quick Books)
  • Provide support in product inventory, coordination and customer communication
  • Manage vendor relationships and material orders
  • Maintain organized files (digital and physical)
  • Manage phone calls, emails and client inquiries professionally
  • Assist in annual Workers Compensation and General Liability Audits

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in office administration and management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Power Point)
  • Experience with Quick Books
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently
  • Marketing and networking experience a plus
