About Talbot Tennis

Padel blends the play of tennis and squash on a smaller, fully enclosed court where the walls are part of the game. It is fast, social, and almost always played as doubles, which makes it a natural fit for clubs, communities, and private residences looking to add something new.

As a padel court contractor serving Georgia and South Carolina, Talbot Tennis builds stand-alone padel courts from the ground up. We have been building courts since 1976, and we bring that same proven craftsmanship to every padel project. We handle site preparation, the base, the enclosure, the playing surface, and the finishing details, delivering a turnkey court that is ready for play. From colors and turf systems to lighting and accessories, we tailor every court to your space and goals. We also specialize in pickleball court construction, outdoor basketball courts, and bocce ball court construction for residential and commercial properties.

The Basics

What Is Padel?

Padel is a doubles racket sport played on an enclosed court roughly a third the size of a tennis court. Players use solid, stringless rackets and a ball similar to a tennis ball, but the defining feature is the walls.

Glass and mesh surround the court, and the ball can be played off the walls during a rally, much like in squash. That single rule changes everything: points last longer, positioning matters more than raw power, and the game is easy to pick up while staying endlessly fun to master. Its quick learning curve and social, four-player format are a big part of why padel has spread so rapidly across Europe, Latin America, and now the United States.

What Sets a Padel Court Apart

Padel-Specific Features We Build

A padel court is an engineered structure, not just a painted surface. Every component is built to performance and safety standards so the court plays right and lasts.

Tempered Glass Walls

Shock-resistant tempered safety glass, typically 10mm to 12mm thick, gives clear sightlines and stands up to constant ball and body impact while staying in play.

Steel Mesh Fencing

Galvanized or powder-coated steel mesh frames the enclosure above and around the glass, keeping the ball in play while allowing airflow, light, and spectator visibility.

LED Lighting

Pole-mounted LED systems deliver even, glare-controlled illumination for evening and indoor play, so the court is usable well beyond daylight hours.

Turf Court Systems

Sand-filled artificial turf engineered for grip, consistent rebound, and shock absorption, available in blue, green, and terracotta to match your preferences.

FAQs

FAQs About Padel Court Construction in Georgia & South Carolina

Common questions about building a padel court in Georgia and South Carolina. Have one that is not here? Call us at (678) 469-9909.

A regulation padel court measures 20 meters long by 10 meters wide, which is roughly 66 feet by 33 feet. The court is enclosed and divided in half by a net. Because padel is played almost exclusively as doubles, the enclosed footprint keeps four players in fast, strategic rallies.

Padel walls are built from tempered safety glass, typically 10mm or 12mm thick, set into a galvanized or powder-coated steel frame. The glass is part of the game itself, since the ball can rebound off the walls during a rally. Back walls are usually around 3 meters of glass, and the side walls step down toward the net, with metallic mesh fencing above and around the glass.

While the playing area is 20m by 10m, you should plan for additional space around the structure for the steel frame, glass panels, and safe player movement. Overhead clearance also matters for outdoor courts. Our team will survey your site and confirm exactly what will fit before any work begins.

Both. Padel courts are built indoors and outdoors. Outdoor courts often add LED lighting for evening play and can include canopy options for weather protection. Contact us at (678) 469-9909 and we can talk through what works best for your space.

Padel is played on artificial turf with a sand infill, available in colors such as blue, green, and terracotta. The surface is designed for grip, consistent ball rebound, and shock absorption. We help you choose a system that fits how you plan to use the court.

Every project has different needs depending on site preparation, the base, and the enclosure system. Talbot Tennis is committed to completing each job in a timely manner and working to meet your schedule. Reach out today to get started.
